Laurent Durupt

Laurent Durupt began his musical studies in the Conservatory of Nancy (France) before entering the class of Hugues Leclere at the Conservatoire National de Region de Paris, where he won  piano first prize  in 1998 . He was admitted to the class of Bruno Rigutto and Nicholas Angelich at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris and won a prize in Analysis (Class of Frederic  Durieux and Alain Mabit), in Renaissance polyphony (class of Olivier Trachier), Music Room (Class of Daria Hovora) and won the Pierre Bourgeois Prize of the Fondation de France, for piano in 2001.

Laurent Durupt pursued her education in piano at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva in the class of Pascal Devoyon. On this occasion, in 2004, he received lessons from Gyorgy Sandor which will significantly advance his interpretation of Bela Bartok, whose pupil Mister Sandor was.

Laureate of international competitions (1st prize FLAME in Paris in 2001, 3rd prize Scriabin to Grosseto in 2002, 1st prize Luciano Gante in Pordenone in 2003), Laurent Durupt is invited to many festivals such as Salzburg Schlosskonzerte (Salzburg, Austria), Nei suoni dei Luoghi (St Lavrec, Croatia), Carré d'As (Chartres) or Nancyphonies (Nancy) and performed as a soloist and chamber musician in France (Paris, Sceaux, Vincey...) and Europe ( University Autonoma de Madrid, Amsterdam Opera ...).

He founded the duo LINKS in 2006 with his brother percussionist and won with him two awards from international chamber music competitions: "Musique d'ensembles" (Paris) and" Contemporary Chamber Music "(Krakow). They include the class in 2009 Jens Macmanama for a Master of Music Room.

In his career as a interpret, Laurent Durupt passion for new music, participating in performances of the Ballet National de Lorraine and collaborates with many composers. He studied composition itself including  Allain Gaussin (in Sevran from 2003 to 2006) and Philippe Leroux (DEM composition at Blanc-Mesnil in 2005) before being admitted in 2006 in the composition class of Frédéric Durieux and new technologies class of Luis Naon, Tom Mays and Yann Geslin at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris. Constantly looking for new ways to perform, he is also a student in the class of generative improvisation Alexandros Markeas and Vincent Quan.

Laurent Durupt currently teaches at the Conservatoire Darius Milhaud in the 14th arrondissement of Paris
